I had a Kindle 3G brought into the Surgery the other week with a broken screen. Kindle’s are great pieces of kit but they can get damaged quite easily just like any other tech component. This one had inadvertently received some rough treatment whilst being transported in a back pack.
Like most repairs, time and patience are required. To get at the screen you need to remove virtually all the other components once the back of the unit has been removed.
Care, patience and a steady hand soon restored the Kindle to its former glory with a brand new screen fitted. Better still, the repair was cheaper than going out and buying a new unit.
