Ok, for all you Mac users out there, here are my 3 top tips of the day for little known features of the Mac o/s.
- If you want a quick way of finding the serial number of your Mac then click on Apple ▸ About This Mac and click on the version number (immediately below the Mac OS X title) twice. Your Mac serial number will now be displayed, replacing the version number.
- Use Mail and can’t be bothered to read through all those emails yourself? Well, why not get your Mac to read them to you. Simply open your mail item in a new window within Mail and click on Edit ▸ Speech ▸ Start Speaking. Then sit back and listen! When you’ve had enough, click on Stop Speaking to finish!
- Want a quick way to add a new application to your list of start up items? Simple, just select the relevant icon in the Dock at the bottom of your screen, right click and select Options ▸ Open at Login. That’s it. Next time you start up your Mac, the application will open automatically.
There, isn’t life so much easier with a Mac?
