I’ve just finished replacing a broken screen hinge on a Toshiba Satellite C660-11H. Laptops are generally fairly robust bits of kit, but can certainly suffer accidental damage on occasions.
Replacing a screen hinge requires quite major surgery, stripping the machine down to expose the hinge mountings and then disassembling the screen to get at the further screw attachments before finally removing the broken part.
Like most jobs, patience and attention plus a careful count of the screws you have to remove pays dividends.
If your laptop needs such a repair, and you don’t feel confident to tackle it yourself, bring it along to the Surgery and let the professionals take care of it for you. You know it makes sense!
