Another Rescued MacBook

I’ve recently finished work rebuilding a 13″ unibody MacBook Pro whose owner had accidentally spilt most of the contents of a glass of red wine over the keyboard a few weeks back. Not a good use of wine and certainly not very beneficial for the Mac.

It came into the surgery with absolutely no signs of life. The power button refused to work, the battery refused to charge, the screen remained blank. All in all things did not look promising.

However, a careful examination revealed that the motherboard was still in good condition. Fortunately the vino hadn’t fried it. A glimmer of hope! By carefully dismantling and cleaning all the internal components followed by fitting a new keyboard and magsafe DC-in board, life was brought back to the Mac. Now we have a good machine restored to its former glory and good to go. And the moral of the story – don’t drink and type at the same time!
