Migrating to a new Mac

You know the situation. The beloved old Macbook has finally begun to show its age and you’ve treated yourself to a shiny new 2012 model. Great. Trouble is, all your life is still included on the old machine. Your photos, documents, email preferences, favourite applications and settings. So what do you do. Well, turn to the Migration Assistant.

Well thought out and easy to use this program allows you to migrate all your information from your old to new machine with a few clicks of the mouse. All you need to do is connect the two computers, either directly via an ethernet cable for the quickest transfer or via your home network. Decide what items you want to transfer. Follow the on screen prompts and away you go. Simple. Then you can sit back and enjoy your new machine with all your data and preferences safely in place.

You can find the Migration Assistant program inside the Utilities folder. Go to your Applications folder, then Utilities and away you go.
