Just finished replacing a broken CPU fan on a Compaq Presario CQ56. The laptop fan does a demanding and tireless job in keeping air circulating around the system components. Heat is the enemy of most electronics so an efficiently working fan is critical.
This one had seen better days, being clogged up with dust and having multiple broken blades.
Replacing the fan required dismantling the laptop and removing the motherboard. With a new fan in place the Compaq was up and running in no time. Another successful patient left the Surgery!
