I’ve just completed replacing the motherboard on an old Mesh desktop. The machine came into the clinic in quite a bad way. It would power on, but no reassuring beeps, the screen remained stubbornly blank and there was a faint burning smell to boot! Not good.
Finding a working, secondhand board for this model wasn’t as difficult as anticipated and neither was it expensive. Its amazing what you can get for £20! Fitting was straightforward and the machine sprang back to life first time. Its no speed merchant, but for surfing the net and the occasional email, which is all its owner is interested in doing, it fits the bill perfectly. Who says computing has to be expensive!
